The Xbox One Has Arrived

Yesterday, from Microsoft’s campus in the state of Washington, Microsoft revealed the brand new and highly anticipated next generation gaming console – Xbox One. If you thought that the Xbox One would simply be the next logical step forward in the world and realm of gaming consoles with an obvious boost processing power, internal memory and storage, you would be dead wrong…. Based on the sneak peak unvealing, the Xbox One is looking to revolutionize the way we interact with all of our living room entertainment, from playing Xbox One games, to listening to music, to watching tv. From voice activated commands to control the console, to hand gestures to move seamlessly through content, the Xbox One looks to be the next level of evolution in interactive personalized home entertainment. Among the more exciting new features of the Xbox One, are instant switching between live tv, a paused game or Xbox Live movie, the Xbox One live tv guide with searchable and accurate channel and content listings and even a list of available trending content that your friends are watching, helping you figure out what to watch next. The new Xbox One voice activation and hand gesture recognition is made possible with the integration of the new and much improved Xbox Connect, which is equipped with a very snazzy high definition camera that can also be used to make a Skype video call while playing your favorite game without missing a second of gameplay – that’s right, multitasking has finally hit the living room. These are just a few of the many new features on the Xbox One and based on the demos we saw, the gameplay looks incredible. More to come at E3 – Watch the full Xbox One unveiling below….

New MacBook Air Could be on its Way

New Macbook Air

You can’t ever be certain of anything with Apple because they are notoriously secretive and very cloak and dagger, but one thing is pretty well expected – Apple is over due for some product upgrades. We really won’t know for sure what’s on the horizon until the WWDC 2013, but there are some signs recently that a new MacBook Air could be well on it’s way. One of the strong tell tell signs that a new product is on its way down the pipeline, is that the older models and products are cleared out to make room for new stock – This is exactly what appears to be happening with stock of the 13.3inch 1.8ghz 256GB SD models of the MacBook Air. AppleInsider said Friday that at large online retailers like MacConnection, stock of these models has vanished. The exciting rumor circulating at the moment is that the product refresh could come as early as next month. Expected upgrades could be more RAM, speedier processor or bigger hard drive, only Apple knows for sure. Many of us would like to possibly see the addition of a retina display, but with that display would come a big honker of a battery and the MacBook Air is not exactly overflowing with available space inside its thin design – then again, Apple has a knack for pulling off design miracles so one really never can tell where the tech giant is concerned :-)

Wolfenstein is Back and Coming to an Xbox360, PC and PS3 Near You

Are you easily aggitated or do you perhaps have anger management problems? If you answered yes, you can stop punching holes in your car or throwing your coffee tables into the good old big screen tv because we have the answer to your problem. What you need is some good old fashioned oh so satisfying bloody carnage unleashed on some people that really piss you off! No, we are not talking about you committing Harry Carry on your boss or disgruntled co-workers, we’re talking about Wolfenstein: The New Order. Wolfenstein: The New Order is to be the latest incarnation of the Wolfenstein series, which originates all the way back to the early 80′s, but is best identified by the oh so unforgettable and amazingly fun to play Wolfenstein 3D, which debuted in 1992. Wolfenstein 3D does not hold the honor of being the first first person shooter ever created, but it wears the crown for laying the foundation for all the other fist person shooters of the last 20 years by showing us what great FPS look like. We don’t know much about the new title and expect more to be released next month at E3, but from what we see in the brief trailer below, it looks like it could be one hell of a game – maybe something like Call of Duty meets the Terminator… If the previous incarnations, like Return to Castle Wolfenstein (2001), are any reflection on the new installment, we could be in for a damn fun FST experience :-) Wolfenstein: The New Order is being developed by MachineGames, a gaming development company founded in 2009.

“We are excited to bring a new chapter of Wolfenstein to gamers everywhere,” said Jens Matthies, creative director at MachineGames. “As fans of the series, working on this game is an honor, and our team is driven to create an unforgettable action-adventure experience that will make FPS fans proud.”

2012 marked 20 years for Wolfenstein 3D and Bethesda celebrated that milestone by launching an HTML5-based version online that fans can play for free in their browser. Check out the trailer below for a sneak peek:
